Our experienced scientists conduct work in a variety of areas - from plant breeding to final product crystallisation. The result is improved productivity for the whole industry; from primary production through to manufacturing.
Agricultural scientists are working to understand alkaloid production by the poppy plant in order to maximise the content of the required alkaloids in commercial crops. New technologies are employed wherever possible to maximise the crop improvement program. In addition to research into poppy genetics and breeding methods, work is undertaken on crop nutrition, crop husbandry and crop protection. Greater knowledge of our subject means we can advise farmers on the best strategies for enhancing crop production in an environmentally sustainable manner.
Our team of research chemists focus on the development of safe, efficient processes for manufacturing active pharmaceutical ingredients to the highest world-quality standards. In accord with our foundation of a sustainable agricultural industry, processes are designed from the outset with paramount consideration given to protection of the environment and waste minimisation. Processes are investigated in detail to define robust and capable manufacturing procedures which consistently deliver products with tightly defined and controlled quality characteristics. A dedicated KiloLab facility ensures smooth scale-up from the R&D laboratory to the manufacturing facility where the process is validated and locked-in. |
